Big Tent is a first-of-its-kind event scheduled for June 11-13, 2009, in Atlanta under the theme, ” … And the Word became flesh.”
What is the Big Tent?
The Big Tent has been called “a denominational happening” and “a big Presbyterian family reunion.” Big Tent will inspire you and make you proud to be Presbyterian. The event will be celebratory, diverse, participatory and intergenerational. We will worship together and share meals. The partner conferences are planning plenary sessions, panels, Bible studies, workshops, tours and networking opportunities. The exhibit hall will feature displys of the PC(USA) agencies and some of their related organizations. We will close with a Saturday evening celebration at Atlanta’s Centennial Park. Youth programs are being organized and provisions are being made for child care.
Ten Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) ministries and groups will hold their conferences in conjunction with the Big Tent event.

Share your multicultural church model and win money for your congregation as you help the rest of the church learn. Tell your story in the 2009 Multicultural Church Story Contest. Five churches will receive first place awards of $1,000 each. Apply now — the deadline is July 31. Are you eligible? A multicultural church intentionally seeks to recognize, celebrate and incorporate a diverse membership in worship, a creative and meaningful evangelism, and leadership. The winners of the past contests demonstrate the best of what is meant by multiculturalism
